Soooo~ I've got a photography project to do for uni. Because of this, I've spent the last couple of days taking a bunch of photos to get an idea of what I want to do. So far the only thing I've come up with is face paint. Yay.

Quick doodle of a costume/character idea I'm trying to flesh out for a photo shoot I'm doing...tomorrow. Ahahah. I hate photography. I really, really, strongly do. A lot.


A rough and badly scanned draft for a tattoo I was thinking about getting. But now probably aren't since I'm not getting any Rudd money (aka, financial crisis package...money...stuff. I'm tired, the word will come to me eventually.)

upside to today:
My steampunk hairpin and goggles arrived today & I spent $93 on CD's.
I am completely broke for when I go to sydney in 4 days D:
at least galleries are mostly free.
 

k, so I'm finished school now.

HSC starts in a week and I haven't really studied at all.
Need to do that soon.
English paper one on the 17th and paper two on the 20th.
I've not no worries about paper one, it's paper two I always really fail at (65% last time. I need at least 80% in everything).

ANYWAY.
I've had two weeks holidays which means I've been doing some fun stuff. Would do more arts, but I have no paper around at all. It is a pain.

1) 16th September: MAJORWORKS TOGETHER WAT? (aka, 'I had to put my major work together finally and spread dried flowers all over the place and then light half a packet of matches)

So, on Tuesday last week I found out same amazing (read: annoying, dumb and just down right stupid news) about my HSC major work and it went a little something like this:

2) 18th September - 21st September: Moorambilla (aka, that thing that actually has culture that happens in my town)

So this thing has happened for the last three years, but I missed the first one (I went to see Placebo in Canberra that year). This year was by far, better then last year for me. I actually got to meet/talk to people, whereas in previous years I just kinda...go and sing (ya, I'm in the Coonamble Womens choir. fear it. we're bitchy and shit).

I think I'm pretty much just going to be known as 'the chick who got up and danced to The Loney Horse Band' or 'the chick with the makeup'.

I'm also wishing I'd taken my camera for the first few days, and not just the first so I could get some more photos/ start my photography hitmenship earlier (when ever I"m in group events like that I pick people I want to get portraite shots of (doesn't matter how bad a shot) and then get them to sigh my little book...thing). Buuuuut, since I only had an hour to do it in, and I forgot my book, I kinda failed.
I've got some video stuff, but I don' actually know how to uploard it/ convert it to the right format to upload. They're .mov files. I don't even know what the hell plays .mov files (well that's actually a lie...).

Best thing about the whole event: you can say you're planning on doing an art course and no one gives you that "OH, so you wanna go to art school" look.

I'm in the second row from the back. Between a bass and an old lady who yells rather then sings. Confused I was (plus, I'd been uber flat all day due to little sleep and general suckyness)
Since I lack single shots of a few people in this, I'll just use this one to explain a few peopel (to those who care)

Dude in white shirt on right side (bottom of stairs, with snares infront of him) {aka, Damian): pretty darn awesome guy. Met him the day before at a Jazz workshop (well, to be honest, the I met him at rehersal on friday, but that was just to ears drop on his pronouseation of the latin in 'O'fortuna').

Lady in black short sleeved shirt, in front of kid in grey: So, she's pretty much the most amazing singer I've met. Does everything, but particularly Jazz and Blues. Billy something is her name. I'm terrible with last names. She had spiffy earings.

Lady in white shirt on the right, leaning on stair case railing: One of our choirs orgnaisers. She's just plain greatness, at least in her ability to organise shizz.

There's also the twins in there, who were just so darn cute (in that 'you just wanna squeeze their cheeks way) and some others who I've completly forgotten.



These two ran an Opera workship (which I didn't get to, but heard a little of), and are just down right ridiculously amazing. 
They did a little thing based around the 'Diva' character that most female opera performers play. She ran around the theater dieing.
Hip thrusts were also involved.



They also pulled out the bull horns as well.

Also bought a HEAP of my prints last week.

She was on my 'ninja in and take photo' hitlist.

Yeah, so while I'm waiting for some CD's to rip (yes, yes I do still buy CD's....) I thought I'd write an entry up. EXCITING OR WHAT>

four weeks until the HSC starts. I'm beginning to think that perhaps, I should start to study again. I need a +80UAI . Blah.

I be hating on my english and design classes. One is just boring and the other is painful boring.

So I'm wasting the last few Gig of my monthly download limit on the forth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.


That may give you a rough idea of how I'm spending my school holidays.  That, and I'm celebrating the fact that I just (almost) successfully cooked my first ever piece of stake.
Admittedly, it was over cooked and a little ew.
But I blame the distraction brought by these two:

Now I've got to go clean the kitchen and the rest of the house.

And then finish my major work stuff.
and work out what else I have to do art wise.
Several problems arise when that is through of,  particularly when this:



Is the only thing I've gone for a long while.
I hate assessment time.
It sucks the life out of me.

So, I decided to tidy up my CD collection today. Not organise it. I'll do that when I get my laptop and rip them all while I'm ordering.

Today I just thought I'd go through and but CD's back in cases and then cased back in the CD racks.

300+ CD's later....I need at least another two racks D:
plus, I'm actually starting to get a few DVDs (like, 20). So I'll be needing more then a shelf on a magazine rack soon.

I don't really bother looking at my computer based music collection, it's to hard. The whole things a mess of broken files and duplicated tracks.
I'm pretty sure I'll just start again soon. I don't listen to much of it anyway.



Other then that, I spent the last two days at HSC seminars in Dubbo. That was pretty not fun. Blisters from bad shoes, and tiredness from early mornings (two hour drive both days to get their at a 8:50am start). Didn't actually lean much. Though, the early entry junk does sound like a good idea since with the way I'm going, a UAI of 80 isn't looking that likely.


I did buy a $10 shirt  and Keffiyah (or what ever of the 10 billion names you want to call it). I really am having one of those personal/moral crisis with wearing it or not. I really bought it because the shop assistant was giving me the evil eye, my friend was taking far to long and the colours on it matched my shoes. Buuuut. I get miffed at people who wear it and not know what it is, or don't understand the history.
Whatever. I'll probably never wear it either way. I don't really wear things that would get in the way that much.


One of the seminars I went to was that interesting, I just couldn't help but not pay attention....
